COVID-19 and Your Immunity
Hello everyone! I hope you’re all staying healthy and not going too stir crazy at home. I wanted to focus this post on immunity because I have been receiving a lot of questions on this topic with the COVID virus going on.

⁃ Every time we eat sugar it depletes our immunity by 50% for 1.5 hours.
⁃ Sleeping patterns make a huge difference in our immunity levels. Adults should be getting 8 hours of sound sleep per night and children 8-10 hours, especially with what’s going on with the COVID right now.
⁃ Food helps boost your immunity: Fruits & Veggies are a huge component in building a strong immunity. I know it’s hard to keep as much fresh fruit and veggies around right now, so try choosing the ones that keep longer such as; apples, sweet potatoes, oranges, lemons and limes.
⁃ Keeping our body more Alkaline is huge for our GUT Immunity! If you have an unhealthy GUT it affects your body as a whole. Here are a few examples of some Alkaline Rich Foods: garlic, onions, herbs & spices, apple cider vinegar, bone broth, ginger and green tea (the ingredient EGCG in green tea, is what helps block enzymes that are bad from reproducing).
As it’s hard to get every nutrient we need by food, that’s where supplements are important to add to your daily routine. When choosing supplements, you don’t want to just choose any over the counter supplement, you want to make sure you’re choosing quality because a lot of supplements have fillers added. Here are some I recommend that are great for our immunity.
Vitamin C: This is an effective component to our immune system because it allows us to better absorb nutrients. (I order the chewable vitamin C from Shaklee that way my whole family can take it).
Vitamin D3: This is key to support our bodies against viruses, bacteria, and parasites. There is Vitamin D 2 and 3, in this case we want D3 for our immunity support.
Zinc: Our bodies deplete Zinc when drinking alcohol, eat processed foods, sweat, and stress levels are high. This is a low cost option, but very affective (It’s about $8.00 per bottle and last around 3 months)! There have been recent studies showing that using Zinc may help people who have the corona virus get over it sooner. It also helps build our immune system, common colds, sore throats, and the list goes on.
